Some ideas for weekend entertainment at the shore – August 19, 20 and 21!


For the wine lovers Cape May county has a remarkable string of vineyards. Be sure to visit Hawk Haven on Sunday afternoons they offer their Sangria Sunday – it’s a delightful place to sit, chill, eat and listen to music. For more information contact and location here’s the scoop.

Natali Vineyards – another on the wine tour offers daily wine tastings and fun events like Wine it down Wednesdays and monthly concert events with vendors, etc. Their events tie in to a local charity so that makes it all the more fun – be sure to check out their facebook page for more information – but here is what’s coming up the weekend of September 3 & 4 at Natali – WineStock – 8 bands, charity donations are being made to Beacon Animal Rescue. Gates open at 11am. Note – if you have an interesting product, I believe they are looking for vendors?

For the shoppers – many stores are offering discounts on summer clothing and end of the season – go shopping!

MoonStruck Boutique @ 503 in Cape May will be hosting a wine and cheese night and will feature local radio personality and author, Lorraine Ranalli. Ranalli will be discussing and signing her fun book titled; “Gravy Wars.” Be sure to stop by to meet and mingle.

Historic Cold Spring Village in Cold Spring will host an antique car show – if you’ve never been to this quaint village go – it’s an astonishing spot that features houses from the 1700s with tours, live workshops, a general store and a restaurant. In Ocean City-Stockton artist Mike Mann is showing 21 of his best water color and acrylic paintings. Realistic and impressionistic scenes of Ocean City. This is a bit off the beaten track but Wheaton Village is a wonderful way to spend the day. They’re offering an exhibit titled Cycles & Symbols: Nature in Glass

This exhibit showcases the various ways nature has influenced contemporary glass artists. It’s easy to get as it is located off of Rte 55 – check it out and make it a day.

Not sure if the weather will hold out this weekend, but there are plenty of rainy day ideas – the Cape May Zoo, the Hereford Lighthouse, ghost tours in Cape May, historical house tours in Ocean City, Lucy the Elephant in Margate, Atlantic City Outlet Shopping, Long Beach Island Birds and Butterfly tours. Whatever you do, be safe, have fun and don’t text and drive!
