This Weekend at the Shore! August 12 – 15, 2011

Well, needless to say, it’s been a busy summer for everyone and I’ve been neglectful of my duties and responsibilities as the shore correspondent to bring you the most useful and up to date information about events taking place at the shore points in South Jersey.

So, without further adieu here we go.

A special note of interest this weekend in the Wildwoods the Harlem Globetrotters will be strutting their stuff at the Ocean Front Arena. Family ticket packages are available and the event is a memorable event. In 1967 my father took me to see the Harlem Globetrotters. It is a memory that I cherish – so go make some memories.

As part of the Harlem GlobeTrotters 2011 season they’re giving back and bringing the gift of better vision to thousands of children in need throughout the world via a special partnership with team sponsor, America’s Best Contacts and Eyeglasses (, and the global non-profit, VisionSpring (

The games start at 7pm Friday and Saturday evening. Tickets are available by going to or calling the Wildwoods Convention Center.

Don’t forget every Friday night in Wildwood all summer long is free fireworks! What a great way to start off the weekend or your vacation!

Cape May is featuring a Designer Show House at Osprey Landing 109 Rosemans Lane, Open for self-guided tours 1pm-4pm daily; 7pm guided tours on Thursdays, Fridays, Sundays & Mondays only

Osprey Landing at Cape May Marine is everything living at the shore is supposed to be. This $2.2 million four-story luxury townhome with deep-water dockage overlooks the harbor and the unspoiled wetlands where wildlife flourishes and the day is marked with spectacular sunrises and sunsets. For the boater or nature lover, or those whose ideal of the perfect life begins harborside, this is the location. The Designer Show House at Osprey Landing coincides with Cape May Harbor’s centennial and this celebration, as well as the home’s unique character, is reflected and interpreted by well-known area designers.
